The role
As Data Engineer you will play an essential role in growing SCOR Digital Solutions products. You will support HealthTech business doing data processing, automation and assist solving business problems.
Reporting to James Lynch, Head of Product and Business Analytics, you will be responsible for the following:
Key responsibilities
- W• Work with the application development team to install the data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines, to support the organization's data needs
• Work with business unit and client managers to solve business needs and client requests
• Manage and use data tools and technologies (such as Databricks) to support the company's data strategy and objectives
• Drive efforts to integrate data from various sources, including OLTP and event data, to create a unified and holistic view of the global data assets
• Ensure the reliability of data warehouse with adequate Automation, Disaster Recovering solutions, and monitoring
• With solid understanding of the application as well as Health Tech domain knowledge, conduct accurate data processing to develop ready-to use, clean data for data analytics including AI/ML
• Collaborate with other data experts to establish data products with high-level automations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Application Development and Knowledge and Data (AI/ML model development) to promote data culture such as data-driven decision-making process
• Connect management information from different business lines to support a global product point of view
• Closely adhere to all local and global security and compliance protocols
Technical/Essential competencies
- Expert in programming languages such as Python and working with data manipulation and analysis libraries/frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
- Expert in SQL and related cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks).
- Experienced with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Experienced using cloud services (GCP is a plus, AWS, Azure).
- Experienced using DAG tools.
- Proficient with code review, CIDI and Git.
- Proficient with testing environments and experienced in setting up unit test.
- Proficient with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and their data requirements.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of data privacy and security regulations and best practices, sensitive to PII and PSI data handling
Personal competencies/Nice to have
- Enthusiastic.
- A healthy knowledge of news & current affairs especially in the topic of technology, data governance, Health Tech, financial sector, insurance, and consumer behaviour.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Familiar with data science including knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
Required education/Work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related discipline.
- 1+ years industry experience in the (re)insurance or Health Tech.
