The role

As Senior Back-end Developer you will play an essential role in growing SCOR Digital Solutions products. You will support the business driving the integration and architecting the backend systems and responsible for the following:

Roles & Responsabilities

  • Drive the integration and architecture of backend systems using Ruby on Rails, along with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, while overseeing the technical direction of projects.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the team's services and solutions, contributing independently to the strategic implementation of technical solutions.
  • Analyze and refine data, processes, and code to enhance system functionality and further continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality Ruby code, ensuring coding excellence, and aligning development with strategic goals.
  • Integrate data storage solutions and APIs, with an emphasis on the product's market fit and customer insights.
  • Quickly identify and resolve system issues, focus on enhancing code quality, and promote automation, including tests.
  • Reinforce best practices and nurture professional growth to achieve technical excellence.
  • Manage the hosting environment, ensure database scalability, and uphold security protocols to ensure robust data protection and system performance.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning, accurately allocate resources, and maintain an understanding of market and regulatory dynamics.
  • Execute complex development tasks autonomously, integrate with external systems, and enhance the product's market competitiveness.
  • Lead technical projects with a focus on timely, innovative, and regulatory-compliant delivery.

  • Stay at the forefront of technology by continually expanding knowledge of tools, trends, and best practices to enhance the competitive edge of the product.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree holder, preferably in IT / Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years working experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL.
  • Learning proficiency with Cloud infrastructures e.g. Google Cloud, AWS, Azure (including Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM and Restful
  • Familiarity with CI/CD
  • Familiarity of utilizing Redis for effective memory or cache management
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture and system design.
  • Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms.
  • Familiar with PSQL and MySQL
  • Native verbal and written level of English.
  • Collaborative attitude and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Stickler for high-quality code and clean architecture.
  • Good communication skills and creative thinking.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile way, and to self-manage tasks and work flow
